It looks like some movement might have been made to rezone the property the defunct historic hotel is sitting on. If that happens, a local developer plans on turning it into a million dollar resort.
Apparently some of the neighbors do not want to see this progress take place. No one wants to watch their neighborhood transform and possibly become a little too active for comfort, but this thing has to be a health hazard by now. And turning down that much commerce would be silly for the area.
The history of this location has already been lost to the years of decay from the environment. Videos on youtube show the disgusting state of the interior.
