Located in the newly inducted Middleburg American Viticulture Area, the estate at Greenhill Winery and Vineyards consists of 20 acres of mostly vitis vinifera vineyards set against the stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountain range. Additionally, we own and farm Naked Valley Vineyards located in Amherst County Virginia, where another 16 acres of mostly vitis vinifera is cultivated and harvested to produce our wines.

Our grape varieties include the Burgundy grapes of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, a nice Bordeaux combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot along with some Riesling, and Seyval Blanc among our vineyards.

Both vineyards have a total of 13 acres of new vines including Chardonnay, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Viognier, Petit Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Our desirable elevation on the estate, averaging 450 feet, combined with our naturally occurring rolling hills, allows for our vineyards to be better protected from frost, and provides great drainage capacity for the roots. The Middleburg AVA soil, considered among the best in the Northern Virginia region for growing grapes, is comprised of gneiss, and granite.
